Security

Landlord’s Desk holds your rent ledger, your leases and your tenants’ contact details. Here is how we protect them, in plain words.
Your account
- Passwords must be at least 10 characters.
- Two-step sign-in with an authenticator app is available to every user. When it’s on, sensitive changes ask for a fresh code.
- Sign-ins are recorded, and we email you after repeated failed two-step codes.
- Team members get their own logins and roles, so nobody shares a password.
Your data
- Every connection to Landlord’s Desk is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Your data is stored with our database provider, Supabase, and encrypted at rest.
- Each account’s records are separated by rules in the database itself, not only in the app, so one landlord can never see another’s tenants or ledger.
- You can export your data at any time, and delete your account from Settings.
Money
- Online payments are processed by Stripe. Card and bank account numbers go to Stripe, not to us, and we never store them.
- If you connect a bank account, the connection runs through Plaid and is read-only: Landlord’s Desk can see transactions to match them to rent, but can’t move money. Connection keys stay on our servers.
AI
- AI features run through providers we list in our Privacy Policy, with zero data retention turned on, so they don’t keep what we send them.
- AI prepares and you approve. It never moves money, changes a lease or decides on an applicant.
